Go back to the future with the new W800 Café

A modern nod to Kawasaki’s 1966 W1, the W800 oozes classic retro styling and could fit right in amongst a lineup of ‘50s/’60s era British bikes sitting outside the Ace Café.

At the heart of the W800 is a 773cc air-cooled vertical twin engine accented by finned exhaust clamps. The combination of a bevel-gear-driven cam , heavy flywheel, and dual 34mm throttle bodies fed by fuel injection provides snappy and immediate low-mid range power. The classically styled blacked-out engine pushes power through a 5-speed transmission highlighted by assist and slipper clutch. The assist makes for light and easy clutch lever actuation while the slipper clutch reduces back-torque and rear wheel hop or skidding when engine breaking or on accidental downshifts.

The W800 offers a comfortable café riding position with plenty of room for a passenger on the two up seat. The café-racer front cowl surrounding the LED headlight, fork gaiters, and clubman-style handlebar really accentuate the retro styling. With a seat height of 31.1 inches and an extremely well balanced 489.5-pound curb weight, the W800 is easy to ride and delivers lightweight sporty handling.
